EVgo Adds Public Utilities/Agency Expertise To Management Team
Colin Murchie and Lars Peters Round Out Leadership at Nation’s Largest Public Electric Vehicle Fast Charging Network
LOS ANGELES - December 17, 2018 - EVgo, the nation’s largest public electric vehicle (EV) fast charging network, today announced the continued expansion of its footprint in the fast charging space with the addition of industry veterans Colin Murchie and Lars Peters.
Dedicated to partnering with utilities across the country, Colin Murchie and Lars Peters have joined the EVgo team as Senior Director of Business Development and Director of Business Development, respectively. Together they will work with utility and public sector stakeholders to grow EVgo’s network and accelerate the transition to electric transportation.
“EVgo’s rapid expansion of the nation’s largest public fast charging network responds to demand from automakers, fleet owners and operators, utilities, and public agencies,” said Cathy Zoi, EVgo CEO. “We are thrilled to add Lars Peters and Colin Murchie to the EVgo team to directly address the multitude of opportunities to work with utilities and public agencies to accelerate access to public fast charging and fleet charging infrastructure.”
Murchie brings more than 15 years of experience in the solar energy industry to his new role at EVgo, previously working at the intersection of infrastructure deployment, finance, and public policy. His prior roles span State and Federal government affairs, business development and commercial sales/account management, and wholesale energy markets including positions with Sol Systems, SolarCity (now Tesla), SunEdison, and the Solar Energy Industries Association.
Peters will be focused on the California market. Prior to joining the EVgo team, he served as Senior Advisor on Zero Emission Vehicles for the City and County of San Francisco, Director of Global Service Provider Sales at Cisco Meraki, and as a consultant and project leader at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), servicing clients in Amsterdam, Madrid and Boston.
According to a recent report issued by the U.S. Department of Energy, EVgo owns and operates more fast charging stations than any other provider in the U.S. The addition of Murchie and Peters will enable EVgo to continue to expand its reach across the country, cementing the company’s lead in the EV fast charging industry.
